The UAE Central Bank issued a statement on Tuesday. UAE Central Bank (CBUAE) announces that it has published an Amendment to 'Annexure 2' of the Regulations Regarding Bank Loans & Services Offered to Individual Customers(2011). This Amendment sets out the new maximum limits or 'fee caps' for fees or commissions charged on retail customer service. The fee caps apply to banking consumer related charges for example, home loans and late fees for credit cards. 21-month-old baby girl drowns in tub in Sharjah

The older sister was playing in the tub filled with water and asked the baby girl to join her. A 21-month-old baby girl drowned in a water tub at her relative's house in Sharjah's central region. She was rushed to Al Dhaid Hospital but died before she could be taken to the emergency room. Police said they received a call from the hospital at the operations room about the incident. A team of officers swung into action and reached the hospital and then the place of the accident. During interrogation and investigations, the cops found that the girl and her family had come on a visit to their relative's house. Eid Al Fitr prayer timings announced in UAE

The moon-sighting committees of Saudi Arabia and UAE will be meeting on Thursday evening to announce Eid Al Fitr. Prayer timings for Eid Al Fitr prayers have been announced. Eid prayer in Abu Dhabi will be held at 5.50am, at 5.57am in Al Ain, and 6.02am in the Western Region, as announced by Awqaf. Sharjah will hold prayers at 5.44am. The prayer will be performed at the same time (5.44am) in the Al Hamriya, Al Madam and Maleha area. However, the Eid Al Fitr prayer will be performed at 5.43am in Al Al Dhaid city and Al Bataeh area and at 5.41am in the cities and suburbs of the Eastern Region. The exchange houses had violated anti-money laundering regulations. The UAE Central Bank on Monday downgraded the licence of some currency exchange houses and asked the residents not to send remittances through those exchange for violating regulations. The seven companies which were downgraded include Taher Exchange Est., Al Hadha Exchange, Al Hemriya Exchange, Dubai Express Exchange, Sanaa Exchange, Cosmos Exchange and Bin Bakheet Exchange Est. "The above exchange houses were prohibited from conducting any activities relating to remittances or payment of wages. This decision comes after the failure of these exchange houses to regularise their status during the grace period granted by the Central Bank," the Central Bank said in a statement on Monday. More than half of UAE employees expect salary hike in 2018

Over 66 per cent of respondents believe salaries are either increasing or staying the same. Professionals across the UAE expect to receive a raise in their salaries in 2018, a new survey by Bayt.com has revealed. Over 66 per cent of respondents in the UAE believe that salaries are either increasing or staying the same. At the same time, 56 per cent of employees expect to receive a raise in 2018, with 27 per cent expecting a raise of up to 10 per cent, the survey found. In terms of salary, 60 per cent of UAE respondents claim that their current salary package consists of basic salary with benefits, while 23 per cent claim that it consists of basic salary only.
