Dubai Customs inaugurated a number of new innovation projects at its main building on Thursday, coinciding with the UAE Innovation Month 2018. Sultan bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, launched the projects in the presence of Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, executive directors, a number of local and federal innovators and the media. The projects included the "Innovation Oasis" and the opening of the Dubai Customs childcare centre in a new design under the theme, "Buds of the Future." 22-year-old was mauled to death by her own dogs

The autopsy of a Virginia woman found dead in a wooded area says she was mauled to death by her dogs. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that the Goochland Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday it’s closing the investigation into 22-year-old Bethany Lynn Stephens’ death in light of the results. Stephens was found last December near her father’s home in Goochland, about 35 miles from Richmond. The report says the medical examiner found defensive wounds on Stephens’ hands and arms from “trying to keep the dogs away from her.” The report also cites evidence of animals chewing on her face, torso and arms after she died. Sheriff Jim Agnew released a seven-page report on the investigation. He says the case will remain closed unless “somebody steps forward with some really strong evidence.

The Gulf country improved its score from 66 in 2016 to 71 in the global corruption perception index for last year. The results were released by Transparency International. The UAE is ranked the highest in the MENA region. The index uses a scale of 0 to 100, where 0 is highly corrupt and 100 is very clean.
