Take your warm lemon water ritual in the morning to a new level with ginger and turmeric anti-inflammatory and hydrating powers. This winter wellness elixir is packed with antioxidant health promotion that detoxifies your liver and blood and begins digestion.

This recipe for immune boosting works wonders for treating cold, sore throat, cough, seasonal allergies, fatigue, chronic pain, irritable bowel syndrome, and other digestive problems.

I chose to only use fresh turmeric root, but unfortunately, in most grocery stores or markets, this wonderful healing root is not often available.

Lemon Ginger Turmeric Tea 1 teaspoon rubbed fresh turmeric root or 1⁄2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon rubbed fresh ginger root or 1⁄2 teaspoon ginger powder 2-3 twists of black pepper (to increase bio-availability of turmeric)

Combine medium-high heat turmeric, ginger, and water in a casserole. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, do not boil. Squeeze the liquid and pour into a mug. Add the juice of lemon and honey and stir well.

Be careful not to ruin your counter top or clothing when rubbing the turmeric root as it can leave nasty yellow stains.
