Lemon Ginger Turmeric Tea 1 teaspoon rubbed fresh turmeric root or 1⁄2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon rubbed fresh ginger root or 1⁄2 teaspoon ginger powder 2-3 twists of black pepper (to increase bio-availability of turmeric)
Combine medium-high heat turmeric, ginger, and water in a casserole. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, do not boil. Squeeze the liquid and pour into a mug. Add the juice of lemon and honey and stir well.
Be careful not to ruin your counter top or clothing when rubbing the turmeric root as it can leave nasty yellow stains.
